A sector of a circle has a radius of 7 inches and a central angleof 48 degrees. Find the length of the arc and the area of the sector.
I know that you use the equation S=r(theta) to find the arc length but i don't know how to find the area!!!! Answer by josgarithmetic(39620) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Amount of arc can come from circumference.
The circumference of the circle is , and you should know amount of rotation 1 time around 1 circumference is 360 degrees. Your amount of rotation given as 48 degrees, so the amount of arc is , and you can simplify this without calculator if you want.
Similar for area. , area of the sector.
This simplified factor and a bit of long division for doing without a calculator
