Question 915189: Please help! I need to be able to answer this without a calculator for tomorrow!
A sector of a circle has a radius of 7 inches and a central angleof 48 degrees. Find the length of the arc and the area of the sector.
I know that you use the equation S=r(theta) to find the arc length but i don't know how to find the area!!!!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Amount of arc can come from circumference.
The circumference of the circle is 2%2Api%2A7, and you should know amount of rotation 1 time around 1 circumference is 360 degrees. Your amount of rotation given as 48 degrees, so the amount of arc is %2848%2F360%29%282%2Api%2A7%29, and you can simplify this without calculator if you want.

Similar for area.
%2848%2F360%29%28pi%297%5E2, area of the sector.

48%2F360=6%2F45=2%2F15
This simplified factor and a bit of long division for doing without a calculator
