A circle is a set of points at the plane that all lie at equal distance from its center. The distance is called a radius. You can draw circles with a compass.

pi (read about it) is a real number that is not represented by any fraction. For more advanced students, it must be said that pi cannot be expressed with polynomials and fractions and roots involving integer numbers; it is a so called transcendendtal number.
