Width = x
Length = x + 3
Perimeter = 2*width + 2*length
38 = 2x + 2(x + 3)
38 = 2x + 2x + 6
38 = 4x + 6
4x = 38 - 6
4x = 32
x = 8
Width = 8 metres
Length = 11 metres
Area = length * width
Area = 88 metres^2.
