Question 808321: This is a loci problem:
Three radio stations receive a distress call from a boat in the North Sea. The station at Norwich can tell from the strength of the signal that the boat is within 150km of the station. The station at Sheffield can tell that the boat is between 100 and 150km from Sheffield.
If these two reports are correct, then how far away from the helicopter station at Newcastle might the boat be?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You did not tell us the distances between those cities, and
whether they are in a straight line or not. The problem
depends on that. Are you supposed to look up their latitude
and longitude and calculate it from that?

You can post the rest of the instructions for the problem in
the thank-you note if you like.
