Since the rectangles are similar, the relationships between the length and width are the same, so we can write it
let x be the shorter side
%282x%2B8%29%2Fx+=+12%2F5........cross multiply
5%282x%2B8%29+=+12x
10x+%2B+40+=+12x
40+=+12x+-+10x
40+=+2x
x+=+40%2F2
x+=+20cm...... the shorter side
then the longer side is:
2%2820%29%2B8+=+48cm
so, the 2nd rectangle is 48 by 20
