Hi,

if ab = 5y -4 and bd = 7y +3 and ad = 20y -9, what is y

   (5y-4) + (7y+3) = 20y-9

       12y - 1 = 20y - 9

             8 = 8y

             1 = y

and..

 1+%2B+10+=+20-9+=+11
