You can put this solution on YOUR website! A circle has radius of 6 cm. The area of a sector of the circle is 3 pi cm squared. What is the measure of the central angle of the sector? Also someone else already asked this, but the tutor didn't answer it fully..sorry! I tried, but couldn't get it!
-----
Draw a circle with radius = 6 cm.
The area of the circle is (pi)r^2 = 36(pi) sq cm
-----------------------------
Use a proportion to find the central angle of the sector:
angle/area = angle/area
----
angle/(3pi) = 360/(36pi)
----
angle = (3/36)*360
central angle = 30 degrees
