SOLUTION: what is the equation of a line parallel to y=5x+1 passes through 3,2 ?
How do i use the point slope intercept form i know how to plug in to y=mx+b but then i cannot find b if it

Question 55400: what is the equation of a line parallel to y=5x+1 passes through 3,2 ?
How do i use the point slope intercept form i know how to plug in to y=mx+b but then i cannot find b if it is not listed. Thank You for Your Help Answer by Cintchr(481) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! If the line is parallel, then it has the same slope. Plug in the (x,y) coordinate and the slope and solve for b.
m = 5
x = 3
y = 2
so the b, or the y-intercept is -13. write the equation again, this time without the (x.y)
