The fencing around the yard would be the circumference of it, and the distance across it would be its diameter.
To find the circumference, use the formula 2pi%2Ar, or in this case, pi%2Ad.
pi%2A1oyd.........pi=3.14
3.14%2A1oyd=31.4yd
Since you're supposed to be estimating to the nearest whole yard, round 31.4yd to 31yd.
