to see if the lines are parallel, we need to find their slopes and see if they are same; so, first write first equation in slope-intercept form y=mx%2B-b where m is a slope... or, in other words, solve it for y
y+=3x+-10%2B18
y+=3x%2B8...so, m=3
second equation is already in slope-intercept form and m1=-6
since m is not equal to m1, these lines are not parallel
