Draw a circle with the center at the origin. Inscribe a rectangle with the horizontal side=6 (width) and vertical side=8 (length) within the circle with its center also at the origin. You now have four corners of the rectangle touching the circle. You only need one of these point to find the radius of the circle.

The (x,y) coordinates of the corner of the rectangle touching the circle in the first quadrant is (3,4).
This makes a right triangle with legs of 3 and 4 making the hypotenuse=5, which also happens to be the radius of the circle.
