Question 438770: Please Help! I need to buy a length of cord/rope to create a circle that is 3 feet in Diameter. However, I live in Australia and need to know not only the length but what the length would be in Metres/centimetres. I have only basic maths skills, please help!

---
C = (3.1416)(3) = 9.4248 ft.
If this is a real buy 9.4 ft is close enough.

Converting to meters: 1 meter = 39.37 inches = 3.28 ft

9.4 ft[1 meter/3.28 ft] = 9.4/3.28 meters = 2.87 meters

You need a rope that is 2.87 meters long

Buy one that is 3 meters long and you'll be very close.
