Question 388908: I am trying to figure out how you get the answer to:
If T is the midpoint of SU, find the values of X and ST.
Example: straight line with S____________T____________U. Under ST is 7X and under TU is 4X + 30.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! If T is the midpoint of SU, then ST must equal TU, right?
Ok, now ST = 7x and TU = 4x+30 so we set these two equal to each other to get:
7x = 4x+30 Now you can solve for x by subtracting 4x from both sides.
3x = 30 then divide both sides by 3.
x = 10 and...
ST = 7x = 7(10) = 70.
