You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A full circle is an arc of 360 degrees.
The length of an arc of 360 degrees = 2 * pi * r.
the length of an arc of x degrees is equal to x/360 * 2 * pi * r.
Same with the area.
The area of an arc of 360 degrees = pi * r^2
The area of an arc of x degrees is equal to x/360 * pi * r^2.
x is less than or equal to 360 degrees.
In your problem, you are given the diameter as 12 inches.
This makes the radius equal to 6 inches.
Work your problem accordingly.
Length of the arc = 60/360 * 2 * pi * 6 = 2 * pi
Area of the arc = 60/360 * pi * 6^2 = 60/360 * pi * 36 = 6 * pi
