Question 341992: If line segment BD is the angle bisector of angle ABC, line segment BE is the angle bisector of angle ABD, and the measurement of angle DBC= 24 degrees, what is the measurement of angle EBC? Answer by Edwin McCravy(20056) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! `
If line segment BD is the angle bisector of angle ABC,
`
`
line segment BE is the angle bisector of angle ABD,
`
`
and the measurement of angle DBC= 24 degrees,
`
Since line segment BD is the bisector of angle ABC, then the measure
of angle ABD is also 24°
and since line segment BE is the angle bisector of angle ABD,
Both angle ABE and EBD have measure 12° each.
Then the angle EBC, indicated by the double blue arcs below,
has measure equal to sum of the measures of its parts,
angle EBD and angle DBC. The measure of angle EBD is
12° and the measure of angle DBC is 24°, and their sum
is 12°+24° or 36°. So angle EBC has measure 36°.
