Question 336553: 16. One freezer measures 1.5 ft * 1.5 ft * 5 ft and sells for
$350. Another freezer measures 2 ft * 2 ft * 4 ft and
sells for $400. Which freezer is the better buy in terms
of dollars per cubic foot?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Volume of first freezer = 1.5*1.5*5 = 11.25 cubic feet.

So the dollar per cubic foot figure for the first freezer is 350/11.25=31.11

In other words, you pay about $31.11 per cubic foot for the first freezer.

Volume of second freezer = 2*2*4 = 16 square feet

Now divide 400 by 16 to get 400/16 = 25. So you pay $25 per cubic foot for the second freezer.

Therefore, the second freezer is cheaper per cubic foot.
