Question 256027: Carlos made a pizza for his friends. The circumference of the pizza was 47.1 inches. Carlos cut the pizza into pie-shaped pieces. (Use pi+3.14 for any calculations.)
Q. If the first cut was made across the middle of the pizza, what was the length called, what was its measurement, and what formula did you use to find the answer?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
CIrcumference formula is
(i) C+=+2%2Api%2Ar
So, from (i) we have
47.1+=+2%2Api%2Ar
or
47.1+=+2%2A3.14%2Ar
and solving for r, we get
r+=+7.5 in.
The first cut was made along the "diameter" of the pizza. The diameter is 2r or 15 in.
