: Hi.
In this question it asks for AB to be found.
It is a circle with the center point P. It has a radius of 6 and a chord AB drawn from one point to another. The chord divides the circle into a certain section and it has an arch that on the outside of it it says 120 degrees.
The radius is not drawn horizontally, but if it was drawn horizontally it would still be 6 and would seem to bisect the chord and then create a right triangle onto which the Pythagorean theorem could be used to find 1/2 of AB.

Thanks for your time! :)

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
a sketch would help but bear with me
arc = 120 deg means that central angle bpa = 120 deg
now you can do the triangle resolution as you suggested
angle pab is now 30 deg ( (180-120) /2 )
pa is radius =6
1/2 of ba is sq rt of (6^2 -3^2 ) = 5.196
ba is 10.392
check sin 60 deg = 5.196 / 6 = ,866 ok
