The area of the sidewalk is the difference of the areas of the larger circle and the smaller circle.


The smaller circle has the radius of 60%2F2 = 30 feet. Its area is pi%2Ar%5E2 = 3.14%2A30%5E2 square feet.


The larger circle has the radius of 30+5 = 35 feet. Its area is pi%2AR%5E2 = 3.14%2A35%5E2 square feet.


Thus the area of the sidewalk is 3.14%2A%2835%5E2-30%5E2%29.
