.
The distance from the center to the 10 cm chord is sqrt%2813%5E2-%2810%2F2%29%5E2%29 = sqrt%2813%5E2-5%5E2%29 = 12 cm.

The distance from the center to the 24 cm chord is sqrt%2813%5E2-%2824%2F2%29%5E2%29 = sqrt%2813%5E2-12%5E2%29 = 5 cm.

The distance between two given parallel chords is 12 + 5 = 17 cm.
