Question 1021170: :- X and Y are centers of circles of radius 9 cm and 2 cm and XY = 17cm. Z is the centre of a circle of radius 4 cm, which touches the above circles externally. Given that ∠XZY=90o, write an equation in r and solve it for r.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
What is r?
The way you have the problem set up,
XZ=13
YZ=6
XY=17
but they don't form a 90 degree angle since the sides don't follow the Pythagorean theorem.
XZ%5E2%2BYZ%5E2=XY%5E2
Please clarify and repost.
