You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A regular pentagon whose perimeter is 284 cm is circumscribed about a circle. Find:
Side of the pentagon s = 284/5 = 56.8 cm
----
a. The diameter of the circle.
The radius is the apothem.
r = (s/2)*cot(36) =~ 39.089 cm
d = 78.178 cm
----------------
b. The area of the circle.
Area+=+pi%2Ar%5E2
=~ 4800.257 sq cm
----------------
c. The area of the pentagon.
Area+=+ns%5E2%2Acot%28180%2Fn%29%2F4 n = # of sides = 5
= 5*56.8^2*cot(36)/4
=~ 5550.76 sq cm
