Without a context or additional info about a missing number,

any search of this kind is a non-sensical exercise,

independently on the subject, under which to place this so called "dilemma".


And since it is a non-sensical exercise, the best thing which a reasonable person
can do with this assignment is to throw it to the closest garbage bin and forget forever.

Therefore, we simply don't have enough information for that problem.
The same can be said if the missing term is between other given terms.
