Question 486887: Find an equation in slope intercept form passing through the points (-6.2,18.1) and (-3.4, 18.1)
This is where I am at...
Slope = m formula y=mx+b
M= (y1-y2) / (x1-x2)
M= 18.1 – 18.1/ -6.2 + 3.4
M=0 slope
Replace x and y with one set of points to solve for y intercept in [y=mx+b]
(y – y1) = m(x – x1)
Let x1 and y1 = -6.2, 18.1
Y – 18,1 =0
Y = 18.1
M = 18.1 – 18.1/-6.2-(-3.4)=0/-2.8 = 0
X1=2
Y1=5
X2 = 7
Y2 = -3
M = -3-5/7-2
M = -8/5
Y = mx+b m=slope b=y intercept
Replace m with -8/5 and replace b with 41/5
Y = mx + b
Y = -8/5x + 41/5
I am not sure if I did this right.
