| Question 52281: If AC=62, find the value of x. Then find AB and BC.
 Picture: shows a line with 3 points on it. A, B, and C. Points AB=3x-4 and points BC=3x-4.
 When finding x, I got 10.3 since AB and BC both are 3x-4..does that make them congruent...so AB and BC would both equal 26.9? [ 3(10.3)-4 = 26.9 ]

 Thank you.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! If AC=62, find the value of x. Then find AB and BC. Picture: shows a line with 3 points on it. A, B, and C. Points AB=3x-4 and points BC=3x-4.
 AC=AB+BC
 62=3X-4+3X-4=6X-8
 6X=70
 X=70/6 = 35/3=11.6666
 When finding x, I got 10.3 since AB and BC both are 3x-4..does that make them congruent...so AB and BC would both equal 26.9?
 NO CONGRUENT OK..SO EACH IS 62/2=31
 SO 3X-4=31
 3X=35
 X=35/3=11.6666
 [ 3(10.3)-4 = 26.9 ]
