You can put this solution on YOUR website!
What is the perimeter of rectangle jKLM with vertices j(-1,3), k(2,3), l(2,-5), m(-1,-5)?
----------
Use the distance formula:
d+=+sqrt%28diffy%5E2+%2B+diffx%5E2%29
---
for jk:
d+=+sqrt%280%5E3+%2B+3%5E2%29+=+3
Do the same for the other 3 sides, then add them.

What is the perimeter of rectangle jKLM with vertices j(-1,3), k(2,3), l(2,-5), m(-1,-5)?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Notice that the side JK is parallel to x-axis. What is its length? 3 units.
            The side KL is parallel to y-axis. What is its length? 8 units.
It is just enough to find the perimeter of the rectangle.
Can you do it on your own?
