In this video lesson I discuss circle sectors and arcs as well as how to calculate their areas and lengths. First of all, a sector of a circle is part of the circle bounded off by two radii: imagine a slice of pizza. It is defined by its angle measure. In fact, two radii always split a circle into two sectors: the major and minor ones, called that based on their size. Similarly, when we "cut out"a sector of a circle, the curved outer line is called the arc. Again, there is the major arc (the bigger one) and the minor arc (the smaller one). In the video I explain how to calculate the area of a sector and the length of an arc, and use this to solve several examples. For more details, see the video.
