Question 994844: Is arc length the same as sector area?
I have the following problem:
A and B are 2 points on a circle with centre O, radius r=2 with
a) Arc length subtended by
b) area of the sector AOB, I also get 2.8, are they the same thing, or is it a coincidence?

>>> Is arc length the same as sector area? <<<
- No, the arc length is the length, while the sector area is the area.
But the ratio of the arc length to the circle length is the same as the ratio of the corresponding sector area to the area of the same circle.

No, they're not.
Consider a slice of pizza that's cut from a circular pizza pie
The crust around the circular edge (if it has one) would be considered the arc length, while the entire pizza that is to be eaten would be
considered the area of the sector (a PORTION/SECTION of the entire area of a circle)
