You can put this solution on YOUR website! For what values of K is y=k a tangent to the circle (x-1)^2+(y+4)^2=25? ---------
The equation is that of a circle with center at (1,-4) and radius 5
 Draw the picture.
The line you are looking for is parallel to the x-axis and intersects
the circle at its topmost point and its bottommost point.
 Topmost is (1,-4+5)=(1,1)
The line would be y=1; k=1
 -----------------------------
 Bottommost is (1,-4-5)=(1,-9)
The line would be y=-9; k=-9
 ------------------
