Question 626336: A sphere has a radius of 3 and a hemisphere has a radius of 6. Compare the ratio of the volume of the sphere to the volume of the hemisphere.
I calculated the ratio to be 3^3 : 6^3 = 27: 126 or 1:8 but think I have missed something re the sphere and hemisphere idea.
Please advise.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! A hemisphere is simply half a sphere, which means it has half of the volume of the original sphere.
Put another way, the volume of the sphere is double the volume of the hemisphere.
Therefore, the ratio of the volume of the sphere to the volume of the hemisphere is 2:1
