From your gram, it looks like
the shaded small half circle on the right has
the same size as the small blank half circle on the left.
That means, the whole shaded area is actually half of
the big circle.
The area of a circle is pi%2Ar%5E2
half of it is 1%2F2%2Api%2Ar%5E2

What is r then?


The diameter of the small circle is the radius of big circle,
so r=8
Now plug in r, we get
Area = 1%2F2%2A3.14%2A8%5E2
= 100.5
The answer is 100.5
