Ok,  I will assume that the shaded region is the segment of the circle with the central angle of  45°.

Then this sector area is   1%2F8   of the circle area.

So, you calculate the circle area   A = pi%2Ar%5E2   (is this formula familiar to you ?)
and then take   1%2F8   of it as your answer.

In terms of   pi,  the answer is    %28pi%2Ar%5E2%29%2F8 = %28pi%2A8%5E2%29%2F8 = 8%2Api.
