Question 616183: katrina is retiling her kitchen floor she is putting a circular design in the center that measures 6 feet in diameter what is the area of the tile circle to the nearest square foot. EDIT you had 3.14 in the word 'center' so assume that you were told to use 3.14 as the value of pi?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Well, the area of a circle is found by using the formula pi r%5E2
if you know the diameter is 6 ft then the radius is half of that i.e. 3 ft
so now you put this into the formula above:
pi 3%5E2
= 9 pi
as pi = 3.14
= 9 x 3.14
= 28.26 ft^2
