Replace b with two numbers that multiply to give you a*c, but add to give you b.
a*c=3*10=30, and b=-17
-2*-15=30 and -2-15=-17
group the 1st two terms and the 2nd two terms:
Factor the GCF from each parenthesis.
Factor out the (x-5)
