x+%2B+3+=+sqrt%2844+%2B+4x%29 is the same as %28x+%2B+3%29%5E2+=+44+%2B+4x. So we then get...

x%5E2+%2B+6x+%2B+9+=+44+%2B+4x
x%5E2+%2B+2x+-+35+=+0
(x+7)(x-5) = 0

so x+7=0 OR x-5=0
so x=-7, x=5

x=-7 is an invalid answer,
since left hand side = x+3 = - 4
but the right hand sqrt(44 + 4x) = sqrt(44-28) = 4
