Question 294183: Is it possible for two different quadratic functions to have the same roots? Explain!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Yes it is!
For example:
highlight%28x%5E2%2Bx-12%29 and
highlight_green%28-x%5E2-x%2B12%29 both have the same roots.
x+=+3 and x+=+-4
Look at the graph of these two quadratic equations:
graph%28400%2C400%2C-5%2C5%2C-15%2C15%2Cx%5E2%2Bx-12%2C-%28x%5E2%2Bx-12%29%29
For any quadratic equation that has "real" roots, its "negative" will have the same roots.
