x= {-b +/- sqrt (b^2-4ac)}/2a
x2-6x-4=0
x= [6 +/- sqrt (36+16)]/2 ;;; sqrt (52)=2 sqrt (13)
divide by 2
x=3 +/- sqrt (13)
That puts the roots between 0 and -1 and between 6 and 7. The vertex is at (3,-13)
