distribute the x;
3x%5E2-7x - 20 = 0
Now factor;
(x-4)(3x+5)=0
complete each side separately;
x-4 = 0
x = 4
3x+5 = 0
3x = -5
x = -5%2F3
check your answer;
3%284%29%5E2-7(4)-20 = 0
3(16)-28-20=0
48 - 28-20=0
48-48=0
That one checks out;
3%28-5%2F3%29%5E2-7%28-5%2F3%29-20 = 0
