We can start at any x value, so lets start at x=-2




Lets find the value of y when x=-2

y=-x%5E2%2B1 Start with the given polynomial


y=-%28-2%29%5E2%2B1 Plug in x=-2


y=-4%2B1 Evaluate %28-2%29%5E2 to get 4

y=-4%2B1 Multiply -1 and 4 to get -4

y=-3 Now combine like terms


So when x=-2, y=-3
