f(2) = 2(2^2) - 4*2 -1
f(2) = 8 -8 -1
f(2) = 1

f(-1) = 2(-1)^2 -4*-1 -1
f(-1) = 2*1 +4 -1
f(-1) = 2 + 4 -1
