Question 895763: i need help finding x for polynomials is there is negative fractional exponents. It was on my precalc test and i could not figure it out. Can you give me a solved problem with negative fractional exponents so i can see how to do it correctly? something like 4x^-3/4 + x^-2/4 - 6. not exactly that but that is a bit of what it looked like. thanks.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Technically, that's not a polynomial in x (a polynomial must have its variables raised to positive integer exponents).

Hint: Let y = x^(-1/4) and rewrite it in terms of y to obtain a cubic.
