1. Given 6 > -3, write the inequality obtained by performing these tasks:


A. Add 3 to each side of the inequality

6 + 3 > -3 + 3 becomes 9 > 0 ***** the inequality is preserved.

B. Subtract 2 from each side of the inequality

6 - 2 > -3 - 2 becomes 4 > -5 ***** the inequality is preserved.

C. Multiply each side of the given inequality by 2

6 * 2 > -3 * 2 becomes 12 > -6 ***** the inequality is preserved.

D. Multiply each side of the inequality by -3

6 * -3 > -3 * -3 becomes -18 < 9 ***** the inequality is reversed.

when you deal with inequalities, you perform the same operations as you perform with equalities.

the inequality will be preserved in all cases except where you multiply or divide by a negative number.
