:
5(x^2 - 4x + 4) = 3
5x^2 - 20x + 20 = 3
5x^2 - 20x + 20 -3 = 0
5x^2 - 20x + 17 = 0
:
No doubt you got to this point in the quadratic formula and had
:
x+=+%28%2B20+%2B-+sqrt%28+60+%29%29%2F%2810%29+
:

x+=+%28%2B20+%2B-+2%2Asqrt%28+15+%29%29%2F%2810%29+
