You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x(2x + 7) = -5
first distribute the x, put in standard form by move the 5 over to the right side and make the equation = 0;
2x%5E2+%2B+7x+%2B5=0
Factor;
(2x + 5)(x+1)=0
make each =0
2x+5 = 0
2x = -5
x+=+-5%2F2
x+1=0
x=-1
so x = -1 or x+=+-5%2F2
:)

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Solve for x:
x%282x%2B7%29+=+-5 Apply the distributive property on the left side.
2x%5E2%2B7x+=+-5 Add 5 to both sides.
2x%5E2%2B7x%2B5+=+0 Factor.
2x%2B5%29%28x%2B1%29+=+0 Appy the zero product principle.
2x%2B5+=+0 and/or x%2B1+=+0
2x%2B5+=+0 Subtract 5 from both sides.
2x+=+-5 Divide both sides by 2.
x+=+-5%2F2 This is one solution.
x%2B1+=+0 Subtract 1 from both sides.
x+=+-1 This is the other solution.
