first find roots:
x%5E2%2B1=0
x%5E2=-1
x=sqrt%28-1%29
roots:
x=i and x=-i
the sum of the roots: i%2B%28-i%29=i-i=0
the product of the roots: i%28-i%29=-i%5E2=-%28-1%29=1
