Question 591352: I do not understand quadratics...It's so frustrating! I am failing algebra 2 and this CANNOT happen!!! I understand how to set it all up with the equation and the formula (a,b,c) and I can solve it up to the last part when you have to simplify it. I cant simplify it. So as an example: +1x%5E2+-+4x+%2B+4+=+0+ as an answer I got +4%2B-+sqrt%28-32%29+over+1+ and I simplified that to +4%2B-+4+sqrt%28-8%29+ please help me! I have a test coming up and my teacher is certainly not the most understanding guy. Thanks again for considering my problem :)

your example does not follow this

perhaps you have it memorized incorrectly?

x = %28-%28-4%29+%2B-+sqrt%28%28-4%29%5E2+-+4%281%29%284%29%29%29%2F%282%281%29%29 = 2
