Question 477118: Hello. My question is %282x-3%29%28x%2B4%29=6 I need to solve by factoring. I tried to but this into standard form, and i came up with 2x%5E2%2B5x-18=0 When I put it into my calculator, I found the intersects were (-4.5,0) and (2,0). However, I need to know how to do this without using a calculator. Do you know of any factoring methods that would help me out on this problem?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If you can factor it to (2x + 9)(x - 2) = 0, you are pretty lucky. If you cannot factor easily (which is perfectly fine, I might not have been able to factor this right away) you can use the quadratic formula to find the roots of the equation.
