what is the effect of y=%28x%2B3%29%5E2 and y=%28x-3%29%5E2 in graphing:

the vertex form of a parabola, y=a%28x-h%29%5E2+%2Bk where(h,k) is the vertex

In these examples k = 0

y=%28x%2B3%29%5E2    |vertex is Pt(-3,0)  line of symmetry x = -3

y=%28x-3%29%5E2    |vertex is Pt (3,0)  line of symmetry x = 3
