Do you need to write the equation in the form y = mx + b?

You can put this solution on YOUR website! STEP 1: you must subtract 2 from both sides of the equation (being that 2 is a positive number and you want to get everything over to the right side and you always do the opposite of what the sign is in front of that number)
STEP 2: you must cancel out both twos on the right side, by crossing them out (because that will give you zero and you do not want that as your answer, cause y is going to be greater than that, also I am not able to cross anything out on here)
STEP 3: you must subtract 2 from 9
STEP 4: you should get 7 as your answer and now you must rewrite the equation again
STEP 5: Next you must add the 3 (because 3 is negative and you always do the opposite of what the sign is in front of that number) on both side of the equation and you must cancel out both threes, by crossing them out (because that will give you zero and you do not want that as your answer, cause y is going to be greater than that, also I am not able to do so on here)
STEP 6: you must add 3 to 7
STEP 7: Now you will have now solved from y your answer should be y=10
PROBLEM BEING SOLVED:
2x-3y=9
-2x =-2
---------
-3y=7
+3y +3
---------
y=10
