Question 278735: This question deals with solving Equations that are reducible to Quadratic Equations section: The question wants me to solve an equation that is quadratic in form. The question is y^4-5y^2+4=0, I think next step is to make (y^2)^2-5(y^2)+4=0, not sure what to do next

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
factoring ___ (y^2 - 4) (y^2 - 1) = 0

factoring again ___ (y + 2) (y - 2) (y + 1) (y - 1) = 0

y = ±2, ±1
